How does it work?

In the electronic fitting scheme it can be seen that the circuit is powered by 5v regulated . They can be applied by means of a regulator (uA705) of the same power supply.

The voltage to be measured is applied to pin 11 of U1, by a resistive voltage divider formed by resistors R2 and R3. This reduces any divisor input voltage by a factor of 100. As the chip U1, is the analog-digital converter designed to convert the measured voltage into a digital value BCD.

The capacitor C1 is part of the chip internal integrator. The Potentiometers P1 and P2 form settings maximum and zero respectively.

The U2 is a BCD decoder chip seven segments with integrated limiting resistors, which is responsible for turning on the segments of the displays according to BCD code supplied by U1. Employees displays are common anode type.

The segments of the displays are connected in parallel, as each digit is selected and activated in successive order through the circuit. In this case the scan rate of the display is 386 Hz.

Operating settings

For proper operation of the circuit is required two adjustments. For the first adjustment, must short the input to ground, and adjust P2 until the display reads 00.0. Below be applied to the input voltage of known value (for example 4.5V) and adjust P1 to read on the display 04.5.
